Apple's iWork, which competes with Microsoft's Office, is the subject of an apparent Mac App Store bug that has allowed even those who didn't pay for the software to freely use the platform, according to a new report.
Earlier this week, iWork users who had only downloaded the free 30-day trial reported they were able to update to the latest version without paying for the software, 9to5Mac reported, citing people who have achieved the feat. The issue appears to be that the Mac App Store is incapable of determining whether a person is running a free trial or a fully purchased copy.
Apple's iWork comes free with purchased Macs. However, those who have older devices and downloaded the trial separately would need to pay full price for full access to the applications.
